Holle was established on the Swiss-German border in 1933. Since the beginning all chemical and production preservatives have been excluded without compromise.

Quality control is the most important aspect of our business. We make sure we get the very best raw ingredients by working in partnership with farmers in the field rather than sourcing from the anonymous world market. We strongly believe that biodynamically-grown ingredients provide the best foundation for premium quality baby foods.

Secondly, we do a lot of analysis before, during and after production. Depending on the product, 300 to
600 parameters are tested, including tests for pesticides, residues such as heavy metals, all sorts of microbiological factors and vitamin content – just to name a few.

The grains in our porridges are grown in rich, pesticide- free and herbicide- free soils that have been nourished and prepared organically.  We only choose carefully-selected Demeter-certified grains from organic farmers with whom we have had a close working relationship for many years.

The full cream milk used in our infant formulas comes from the Southern German Alps and from Austria. The ingredients used in our baby food range come only from biodynamic or organic agriculture.

This means:
•    A natural cycle of cultivation without exploiting animals, soil or the environment

•    Animals kept in their natural environment
•    Use of animal hormones and growth regulators is totally rejected
